Balfour Beatty acquires leading U.S. West Coast contractor North America | 30 June 2011 Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, announces today that Balfour Beatty Construction US (“BBC”) has reached agreement to acquire Howard S. Wright (“HSW”) for an estimated net cash consideration of US$93 million (£58 million) for a zero net assets balance sheet. US$70 million (£44 million) is payable at closing with a further amount to be paid on an earn-out basis over 4.5 years, conditional on the satisfaction of certain financial projections.
Balfour Beatty JV awarded £414 million gas networks contract

Balfour Beatty has been awarded, in a joint venture with CLG Developments Ltd (CLG), a £414 million contract by Bord Gais Networks in the Republic of Ireland.
The nine-year contract is for the installation and maintenance of vital gas transmission and distribution networks across Ireland, including the delivery of new construction, emergency response and planned maintenance services. Work will commence early in the New Year.
