Rob is responsible for the overall management of the investment advisory business and is located in BBIP's London office. Previously, Rob was Head of European Infrastructure at AMP Capital Investors, where he was responsible for managing the European infrastructure investment business, which he was instrumental in founding in 2005.
At AMP Capital Investors, he oversaw investment origination, investment execution, portfolio management and asset management for the European infrastructure funds managed by AMP Capital Investors.
Rob has acted as a director on the boards of a number of infrastructure investments, including Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos, Angel Trains, Alpha Trains, Thames Water and the Secondary Market Infrastructure Fund, and has served as an alternate director on the board of Wales and West Utilities Limited.
Prior to joining AMP in 1997, Rob worked for Bankers Trust, TNT Limited, and Ernst and Young. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canberra and a Master of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Sydney in Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Steven is responsible for advising on the origination, execution and management of investments predominantly in Western Europe and is located in BIP's London office.
Previously, Steven was Director of European Infrastructure at AMP Capital Investors where he led, executed and managed infrastructure investments for the European infrastructure funds managed by AMP Capital Investors.
Prior to joining AMP Capital Investors in 2007, Steven worked as Head of Infrastructure Equity and Advisory, Europe at Commonwealth Bank of Australia in London, focusing on the transport and social infrastructure sectors. He additionally founded and led the social infrastructure team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited ("CBA") in Sydney.
Prior to working for CBA, Steven worked for Halifax Bank of Scotland PLC in infrastructure project finance. His 14 years of experience in leading transactions for debt, advisory and equity investments in airports (Sydney Airport), roads, ports (Dalrymple Bay), rolling stock (Angel Trains) and social infrastructure (Forth Valley Hospital) has provided him with strong project management skills and a detailed understanding of managing complex transaction processes, skills that are essential in executing infrastructure transactions.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from St. Andrews University in Scotland and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Steven is also a Member of the UK Institute of Company Directors.
Jeff is based in New York and is responsible for advising on the origination, transaction execution and management of investments predominantly in North America.
Previously, Jeff was Investment Director of European Infrastructure at AMP Capital Investors where he was responsible for the origination and execution of infrastructure investments in Europe, focused in particular on utilities and energy transactions.
Prior to joining AMP Capital Investors in 2005, Jeff worked for Duke Energy, originating and executing structured energy commodity transactions and prior to that for Enron, where he focused on asset development and acquisitions in Europe, South America and the Middle East.
Jeff has over 14 years of experience as a principal investor in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, with experience focused primarily on the energy sector. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts from The American University in Washington, DC.
Chief Operating Officer
Michael is responsible for operations and administration of the investment advisory business and is located in BBIP's London office.
Previously, Michael was European Investment Manager at AMP Capital Investors, where he was primarily responsible for the operations and administration of the European infrastructure business of AMP Capital Investors, and assisted in the asset management of several of the European infrastructure investments managed by AMP Capital Investors, including Wales and West Utilities and Thames Water.
Michael joined AMP in 2003 and was initially employed as an investment manager in risk and operations for the Private Equity and Infrastructure divisions, following which he managed AMP Life's portfolio of private equity and infrastructure investments.
Michael is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
Rob is responsible for advising on the origination and ongoing management of infrastructure investments in the Fund, primarily in North America. Previously, Rob was Managing Director at John Hancock Life Insurance Company, where he was most recently portfolio manager of John Hancock’s infrastructure equity portfolio.
During his tenure at John Hancock he played a lead in building and managing an infrastructure portfolio comprised of direct investments, co-investments, and equity fund investments in power generation, electric transmission and distribution, oil & gas midstream, utilities, toll roads, airports, ports and rail in North America, the UK and Continental Europe.
Prior to joining John Hancock in 2001, Rob was an attorney at Bingham McCutchen in Boston and PhelpsDunbar in Mississippi.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Science in finance (magna cum laude) from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.
John is located in BBIP's London office and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in Western Europe.
Previously, John was a transaction director within Balfour Beatty Capital and has 15 years of infrastructure investment and advisory experience. While at Balfour Beatty Capital, John was involved in the origination and acquisition of infrastructure assets in sectors such as airports and offshore transmission and has been actively involved in the management of investments across Balfour Beatty Capital's wider portfolio.
Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Capital, John worked in the infrastructure financing teams at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG, advising both private sector bidders and government bodies on transactions across the transport and social infrastructure sectors. Successful deals included advising Bilfinger Berger on its financing of the C$1 billion Golden Ears Bridge in Canada and Cintra on the M3 Clonee-Kells highway in Ireland.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Markus is located in Munich and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments in Western Europe, with particular focus on the German market.
Markus has over 10 years of infrastructure investment experience, and before joining BBIP, he was Bid Director at Balfour Beatty Capital’s Munich office where he was responsible for the origination and acquisition of infrastructure assets in Central and Western Europe.
Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Capital, Markus worked for the infrastructure investment department of major Austrian and German contractors (Alpine Mayreder and Walter Bau) and Kreditananstalt für Wiederaufbau (KFW).
Markus holds a degree in business administration from Pforzheim University.
David is located in New York and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in North America.
Prior to joining BBIP, David worked as a Consultant in the Finance and Investment group at Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he advised financial investors and public agencies on transactions in the transport sector.
David focused on detailed demand and life cycle cost analysis of major transportation assets in the United States, Canada and Western Europe. Recent engagements include advising two of North America's largest pension funds on successful bids for operating toll roads in Canada.
David has 10 years of experience in infrastructure investment and advisory services, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College and a Masters degree in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a focus in Urban Economics. He is a fluent speaker of Mandarin.
Amrita is the General Counsel for BBIP, responsible for all legal matters and is located in BBIP’s London office.
Previously, Amrita has spent over four years with Macquarie with a focus on principal investment, financing, asset management and support to financial advisory businesses, primarily in the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors across the EMEA region. Prior to that, Amrita was part of the European Transaction and Securitisation Group at Citi focusing on structuring and negotiation of financing. Amrita trained and qualified with Clifford Chance with a particular focus on Pan-European Acquisition Financing transactions.
Amrita holds an MA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
Independent Chairman of the Investment Committee
Andy chairs the Investment Committee of the investment advisory business. Andy is an experienced Chief Executive Officer and has been involved in the infrastructure market for 30 years.
Previously, Andy was CEO and Managing Director of Infrastructure at John Laing plc, where he played a leading role in the restructuring and growth of the group as a leading investor prior to its 2006 acquisition by Henderson for £957 million.
Prior to John Laing plc, Andy worked at Macquarie in the UK as an Associate Director, a position he assumed in 1997. Andy held a succession of senior management roles at the City of Melbourne focused on economic and service development, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive in 1995.
Andy is an experienced Non-Executive Director having served on the Boards of Partnerships UK, Financial Security Assurance (UK) Ltd, the Department for Transport and numerous project companies in the rail, airports and utility sectors.
He is currently a Non-Executive Director of High Speed Two Ltd and is a member of the UK Governments Major Project Review Group. Andy holds a Master of Arts from Cambridge University, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute.
Jennifer is located in the Advisor’s New York office and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in North America. Previously, Jennifer was a senior consultant for Sigma Energy Solutions and a vice president at Abatis Capital.
Jennifer has 5 years of infrastructure experience, having specialized in North American energy generation investment opportunities, including both conventional and renewable technologies.
Jennifer holds a BA in Astrophysics with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University.
Wil is located in BBIP's London office and focuses on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in Western Europe.
Previously, Wil was an Assistant Manager in the Business Modelling Group at Deloitte Corporate Finance, having completed his ACA qualification in September 2012. Wil worked as part of a team to design, develop and test complex models for a diverse range of clients including latterly some infrastructure related projects. Prior to that Wil worked in the Banking and Capital Markets team.
Wil holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Manchester.
Marcus is located in BBIP's London office and focuses on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in Western Europe.
Prior to joining BBIP, Marcus was an Executive in the Transaction Modelling team at Ernst & Young where he designed, developed and reviewed integrated financial models for clients across a range of industries, including some infrastructure transactions. Prior to Ernst & Young, Marcus worked in the Business Modelling Group at KPMG where he developed bespoke financial models for forecasting and assessing strategic options.
Marcus holds a BSc (Hons) in Management from Warwick Business School.
Christopher is located in the New York office and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in North America.
Previously, Christopher worked at DNB Markets, the investment banking arm of DNB Bank. He focused on advising companies in the maritime and offshore industries on financial and strategic decisions, including public and private capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to DNB Markets, Christopher worked at D.A. Davidson & Co., an investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions of middle market companies.
Christopher holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University.
Sylvester is located in the New York office and advises on the origination, execution, management and operation of investments, predominantly in North America.
Previously, Sylvester worked at Riverstone Holdings LLC in New York, where he evaluated investment opportunities and managed portfolio companies across all segments of the energy value chain. Prior to Riverstone, Sylvester worked at J.P. Morgan in the Energy Investment Banking group in New York, where he advised corporate clients on a wide variety of M&A transactions as well as debt and equity financings.
Sylvester holds a BA in Economics and Mathematical Sciences from Harvard University.
Chin provides administrative and secretarial support to the London office as well as managing the day to day running of the office.
Chin has previously held a number of senior administrative roles and joined BBIP in 2012.
Chin holds a Master of Arts from the University of Westminster.
